PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
22nd September
Topic: THE JOY OF SALVATION Part 1
Text: Psalms 51:9-12 KJV
9- Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out
all mine iniquities.
10- Create in me a clean heart, O God; and
renew a right spirit within me.
11- Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12- Restore unto me the joy of thy
salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit
There is great joy in heaven over a soul that
is saved (Luke 15:7,10), likewise, that
redeemed soul will also be filled with joy
unspeakable, joy like a river, this is called
Joy of Salvation (Acts 3:19). This joy is not
far fetch because it comes from God
Himself, it is a joy birth from fellowship
with the Holy spirit, personal relationship
with God and new life in Christ Jesus.
However, the devil is always working at
making a believer to lose the joy of
salvation, replacing it with sorrow,
lamentation, frustration and
condemnation. One of the tools, devil uses
is sin
The cry of King David from our text for
today was for God to blot out his sins and
restore him (David) back to God. David lost
it when he committed adultery with Uriah’s
wife and then also plot the death of Uriah
who was one of David’s mighty men (2
Samuel 11). The life of David then went
from light to darkness, peace to trouble
(such that his own son staged a conspiracy
to overthrown David while he was still alive)
. The following series of unfortunate events
happened after David sinned
– A prophet sent by God, gave David evil
prophecies (2 Samuel 12)
– Amnon, one of David’s sons raped his own
half sister, Tamar (his Father’s daughter) 2
Samuel 13
-Absalom, one of David sons staged the
death of his own half brother Amnon, as a
revenge for his sister, Tamar who Amnon
raped (2 Samuel 13)
– Absalom conspired with some of David’s
army to overthrown his father (2 Samuel
15)
– Absalom eventually died when he was
pursuing his father in a war to overthrown
his father, David
Dearly beloved, those events above birth
the cry of David in verse 12a of our text
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation”.
So sin is dangerous and its not to be toiled
with to live a life of joy in Christ, if you have
lost that joy, pray that prayer of David
today. God bless you
