Topic: SOCIETAL INFLUENCE
Text: Proverbs 22:6 KJV
6- Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from
it.
Influence is the capacity to have an effect
on the character, development, or
behaviour of someone or something.
Societal influence can either be positive or
negative, but really the proportion of
negative societal influence is higher than
the positive. The society which includes our
environment, friends, neighbours and even
other members of our family at large are
part of our lives and our disposition toward
them affect our lives. It is therefore
important to guide and protect our children
from bad or negative societal influence
because such could change their
perspective about life for evil.
You need to understand that societal
influence especially the negative ones come
with a lot of pressure and does not give its
victim enough time to properly think before
taking decision, therefore, you need to
carefully, prayerfully and consciously instill
quality and right moral values in your
children for them to be able to withstand
the pressure of societal influence. A lot of
youths today have been badly oriented and
have grew up with such as habit hence it
because difficult to mend them.
Beloved, from our text above, the primary
and basic training of your children is from
you (the parents), all other ones are
secondary. In simple term, it means you lay
the foundation (which is the most
important), while you (the parents), the
children themselves and others (society)
build on that foundation. So beloved it is
better to train your children than to repair
men, let’s catch them young for Jesus
Christ, let’s bring them up in the way of the
Lord, because these little ones are the
leaders of tomorrow and the hope for a
better society. God bless you

* Father, help me train my children in the
way of the Lord
* Father, I pray they will become great
instrument in your hands in Jesus Name
