Topic: PREPARE FOR THE RAIN
Text: 1 Kings 18:41-46KJV
41- And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42- So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
44- And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.
46- And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Our devotional yesterday was a prophetic release of rain in due season, that God shall give us rain according to the scripture in Leviticus 26:1-13. I decree again into your life there, shall be no more dryness in jesus Name.
However, you need to get ready for rain. The two main characters in our bible text above, prophet Elijah and King Ahab prepared for the abundance of rain. Two major preparations from them are:
* PRAYER: Elijah as a spirit filled man went to pray for the rain immediately he prophesied to Ahab that there is sound of abundance of rain. Elijah prayed fervently with his head between his knees and he never relented nor cease to pray until there was a physical sign in the sky of an heavy rain. Beloved you need to prayer without ceasing until the release of the rain that God has promised you comes (Luke 18:1).
* RELOCATION: Both Elijah and Ahab ran in the city from mount Carmel before the rain began. I perceived they want the rain to meet them at home (the best location and the right location) and not outside. Why home? Most likely because Ahab had waited three and half years in dryness, famine and drought without a single drop of rain and so it was paramount for him to get to the palace to inform his entire household to gather as many rain water as possible with every container in his palace. If they remained in Carmel, the rain would have drop heavily but Ahab and Elijah would possibly have no container to gather enough rain water, meaning the rain would fall but was not maximized by both of them. Beloved what this implies is there is divine location where the promised rain will have maximum impact in your life, if you are wrongly located (disconnected from God), you could miss the rain and if you did not miss the rain, you might not maximize the blessings of the rain. * Father, let me not give up prayer till I experience your rain in due season in Jesus Name
* Lord, I will be divinely positioned for your blessings and miracles in Jesus Name
