Topic: BEHOLDING HIS GLORY AND POWER
Text : Psalm 63: 1- 11
Psalms 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early
will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and
thirsty land, where no water is;
Psalms 63:2 To see thy power and thy glory,
so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Psalms 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as
with marrow and fatness; and my mouth
shall praise thee with joyful lips:
The writer of our passage this morning,
knows how to behold the glory of the Lord,
in verse 2 he said ‘…. So as I have seen thee
in the sanctuary ‘ he can talk from
experience, he understands the process, he
knew what it takes to behold God’s power
and glory.
In verse 1 he stated clearly the
requirements for beholding God’s power
and glory;
The 1st requirement is the fact he made
almighty God his God, when he said ‘ O
God, thou art my God ‘. Everyone who
wants to behold His gory and power must
make Him his Lord by giving his life to
Christ.
The 2nd requirement is seeking God early,
from verse 1 ‘..early will I seek you..’ seek
God early not when it is too late, don’t
waste your youthful days running after vain
things.
The 3rd requirement is the fact that, his
soul thirsts for the Lord, there is a strong
desire for the Lord. You must thirst for Him
before you can get Him.
The psalmist explained in clear terms how
he did thirst for the Lord, ‘ …in a dry and
thirsty land..’ he did come to a place where
there is no water, let alone food, longing for
neither food nor water, but the Lord. If you
ask me what he was doing there, I will tell
you, certainly fasting, waiting upon the
Lord, that is the process of beholding His
glory and power, no shortcut, Moses passed
through the same process, Elijah was not
exempted, Jesus did the same, Paul the
Apostle did the same, they all were present
in a land that lack water, waiting upon the
Lord to behold His glory and power.
If you also desire to behold His glory and
power, you need to go through the same
process, waiting upon the Lord is a dry land,
no water, no food. As we wait upon Him this
day, there will be revelation of His glory and
power.
PRAYER.
* Lord give strength and grace to wait upon
you.
* Reveal your glory and power in my life.
* It is another to wait, endeavor to be part
of it, God bless you real good.
