Topic: PARTNERSHIP IN PROGRESS
Text: Ecclesiates 4:9-12
9- Two are better than one, because they
have a good return for their labor:
10- If either of them falls down, one can
help the other up. But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11- Also, if two lie down together, they will
keep warm. But how can one keep warm
alone?
12- Though one may be overpowered, two
can defend themselves. A cord of three
strands is not quickly broken.
Partnership is a relationship between two or
more individuals. An example of a
partnership is a marriage. In the home,
everyone is partners in progress, the father,
the mother and the children are meant to
work together to bring progress and
fulfillment into the family. Everyone has his
or her role to play as partners to make the
family what God wants the home to be. The
progress is all round progress, spiritually,
physically, financially, morally, academically
e.t.c. No member of the family is expected
to fail or lack in his/her responsibilities,
everyone must be a team player.
From our text above, partnership and unity
in the home is profitable in their labour
(verse 9), in their strength (verse 10), and in
their battle and defence (verse 12). It
therefore means that irrespective of the
situations and circumstances, an
incomplete home such as single
parenthood and a broken home cannot be
compared to a complete home. God is
never in support of a broken home and so
let’s shun it, prevent it, work against it and
pray against it. Rather let’s embrace unity of
purpose in our family because we are
partners in progress. God bless you
