25th August
Text: Romans 8:18 KJV
18- For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Jesus lived a life of glory, He was born in a manger yet it was a birth of glory because wise men saw His stars from afar and they came and worshipped Him even in a manger (Matt 2:2).
The earthly ministry of Jesus was also glorious, everywhere He went He was doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil because God was with Him (Acts 10:38)
The death of Jesus brought to Him a greater glory because God gave Him a name that is above every other name (Phillipians 2:9-11). The death of Jesus was a shameful one, because death on the cross was meant for condemned criminals, yet He endured because of the hope of a greater glory as recorded in Hebrew 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Dearly beloved, a greater glory awaits us as well, not only in this world but also in Heaven. Paul said according to our text for today, that the suffering of this present time (the persecution, the trials of faith, the sacrifice we are making for the sake of Christ, the price we are paying for following after Christ e.t.c) cannot be compared with that glory which shall be revealed in us. Therefore beloved let this mind be in you according to Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” God bless you
* Lord, help me not to be weary in this race to your kingdom in Jesus Name
* I will take part in that glory of your coming Kingdom in Jesus Name
