Topic: PARENTAL GUIDANCE
Text: Proverbs 1:8-10KJV
8- My son, hear the instruction of thy
father, and forsake not the law of thy
mother:
9- For they shall be an ornament of grace
unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
10- My son, if sinners entice thee, consent
thou not.
Guidance is advice or information aimed at
resolving a problem or difficulty, especially
as given by someone in authority. Parental
guidance is advising or giving information
to our children on how to live right. As
parents you have rights and authority over
your wards and you are more experience
than they do about the issues of life. Most
times our children look up to us for
direction and guidance but they often felt
disappointed by their parents because they
are busy with job, or have no time to give
listening hears to their wards.
From our text parental guidance has
benefits, verse 9 of our text shows the
benefits of parental guidance. “It shall be
ornament of grace unto thy head” meaning
it shall bring forth pleasant, precious and
good things with ease, and “chains about
thy neck” meaning it shall instill discipline.
Dear parents its your duty not only to
provide for your wards but to also tutor
them to live right. Proverb 22:6 says “Train
up a child in the way he should go, And
when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Remember they are God’s heritage to take
care of, for Him (Psalm 127:3), so don’t fail
God over your little ones. God bless you
