Topic: THE PRAYER OF JABEZ
Text. : 1 Chronicles 4:1-10
1 Chronicles 4:9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
The story of Jabez proves a number of significant points :
1, That a miserable person can become a living testimony.
2, An evil foundation can be rendered of no effect on the future.
3, Evil pronouncement from anyone can be reversed.
4, Destiny can be altered by words.
5, Destiny can be regained through prayer.
Jabez was almost losing his glorious destiny by evil pronouncement on him by his mother. Thank God he knew the God of heaven who can reverse the pronouncement of men, he also knew how to pray, he did not prayer amiss, his prayer points hit target. He exchanged the evil utterance of his mum for God’s blessing in the place of prayer.
ANALYSIS OF HIS PRAYER.
* Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed: ‘ indeed ‘ connotes truly, really. So, he was asking for real blessing, blessing that no curse can stand, he sought to be blessed beyond a curse.
* Enlarge my coast: expand my territory, enlargement on every side .
* Thine hand might be with me: he committed his life to God’s hand for maximum protection. And you can always trust God, He will never let you down. Pray like Jabez today and you will experience a turn around. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Reverse every negative pronouncement on your life, and bad medical report about your health.
* Ask for real blessing, blessing of a life time.
* Another day to fast and pray, endeavor to be a part and you will experience miracle today.
