Topic: FRUITLESS LABOUR Part 1
Text: Luke 5:1-11KJV
4- Now when he had left speaking, he said
unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and
let down your nets for a draught.
5- And Simon answering said unto him,
Master, we have toiled all the night, and
have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy
word I will let down the net.
Fruitless simply means not having a desired
result, not productive or unprofitable.
Fruitless labour therefore means to work
without having a desired result or having
nothing to show for work done or effort put
into a project.
Some common examples of fruitless labour
are:
* Giving your best as an employee but your
best is always unnoticed and unrewarded
* Investing in a business and instead of
profit it amount to loss
* You bought a property and issues arise
such that both property and money you
paid for it were gone
* Experience of miscarriage during
pregnancy by a woman e.t.c
There are natural causes of fruitless labour
such as:
* Lack of adequate planning.
* Too much anxiety, as in rushing to take
decision or dabbling into an investment
without carefully counting the cost possibly
because of huge proposed profits, benefits
or incentives
* Carelessness, as in occasional carefree
attitude to work by an employee
* Indiscipline, as in to do the right thing at
the right time
* lack of technical know how, as in
inadequate skill, information, or knowledge
about a business or project before
venturing into it
Dearly beloved, fruitless labour is terrible as
Peter toiled all night and caught nothing
according to today’s text. I decree you will
no longer labour in vain in Jesus Name. God
