Topic : FAITH VERSUS FACTS
Text. : Romans 4:1-18
Romans 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Romans 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Fact is defined as a statement or assertion of verified information about something that is the case or has happened. While, Faith is defined as the assurance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen. Facts has certainty of verified information, there are evidences that something happened, while Faith has no seen evidence. Fact has visible evidences, but faith has spiritual evidences, verse 17 of our passage tells us; God calleth those things which be not as though they were, that is faith in action. When you need evidence to believe that something will happen then, it is not faith but fact.
Believing against fact is faith, understand that; spiritual things control physical things, though, something has visible fact yet, it can be reversed. For instances a cancer patient with visible medical proof (fact) can be healed by the healing power of God through faith. When you base your life on facts of life, you cannot do much in life, but when you live by faith, great things will answer to your command. Verse 18 says ‘ who (Abraham) against believe in hope…’ This is putting faith against unfavorable facts, that is his wife has past menopause is fact, that a woman who has past menopause cannot put to bed, is another fact, but believing that his wife can conceive, and bear the promise child is faith. Since spiritual things control physical things, and faith is spiritual while fact is physical; all those facts of bareness submitted to faith.
It does not matter the fact of life that troubles your life, faith will definitely bring a turn around, just apply faith against those facts, and you will have testimony.
