PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
21st July
Topic: A VESSEL UNTO HONOUR
Text: II Timothy 2:19-22, KJV.
20- But in a great house there are not only
vessels of gold and of silver, but also of
wood and of earth; and some to honour,
and some to dishonour.
21- If a man therefore purge himself
from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour, sanctified, and meet for the
master’s use, and prepared unto every good
work.
22- Flee also youthful lusts: but follow
righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with
them that call on the Lord out of a pure
heart.
A vessel unto honour is a valid vessel in the
hand of the master of the great house (God)
for His pleasure and to full his purpose here
on earth.
In verse 21 of our text above, a major
criteria of being a vessel unto honour is
that, it must be sanctified. A vessel unto
honour must be holy, that is, without sin.
God is holy and everything about Him is
holy; even the angels in heaven sings unto
Him – “…holy, holy, holy is the Lord God
Almighty” (Isaiah 6:1-3). Therefore, if you
must be a vessel unto honour you must be
holy and without sin.
Another criteria mentioned in verse 21 is
that, a vessel unto honour must be
prepared unto every good work, this means
that the vessel must be available for the
master’s use at any time at all. You must
constantly be on point, worthy and ready to
be used for His purpose. It means anytime
He calls you, you must answer, any where
He sends you, you must go and whatever
He asks you to do, you must do. I remember
a song which is sung thus:
“When he calls me, I will answer 3x
I’ll be somewhere working for my God
I’ll be somewhere working 3x
I’ll be somewhere working for my God”
That’s the song of a vessel unto honour
Dearly beloved, in summary, to be a vessel
unto honour, you must be holy and you
must be readily available. God bless you.
PRAYER
* Father, help me to pay the price to be a
vessel unto honour in your hands in Jesus
Name;
* Lord, by your grace and mercy, make me a
vessel unto honour in Jesus Name.
