Text. :1 Corinthians 15: 33-43
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil
communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to
righteousness, and sin not; for some have
not the knowledge of God: I speak this to
your shame.
Manner is defined as a way of acting or
behaving, everyone who has met Christ is
expected to behave in a particular manner,
while sinners have their way of life believers
are expected to represent Christ. Another
version of our passage says ‘..bad company
corrupts good manners..’ this tells me that
manners are contagious, people you respect
have a way of influencing you, and if care
not taken you will import their errors into
your life.
There are pastors who still tell lies and is
noticed by their members, if such members
are not sound they will take after their
leaders, it is therefore important that as you
relate with people , in church or outside
church setting, you take serious caution,
scrutinize their actions and ensure your life
is not infected with bad manners.
V. 34 of our passage instructs us to ‘ Awake
to righteousness, and sin not.. ‘ it does not
matter who is misbehaving you choose to
live righteously ‘ you are to set the pace for
others to follow, REPRESENT CHRIST WELL.

* Lord help me to awake to righteousness.
* Help me not to be infected with bad
manners.
