Topic: MAXIMISING YOUR POTENTIAL
Text : 1Conrinthians 2:1-16
2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath
prepared for them that love him.
2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us
by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all
things, yea, the deep things of God.
2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a
man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
even so the things of God knoweth no man,
but the Spirit of God.
2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of
the world, but the spirit which is of God;
that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God.
The natural eye cannot see the things God
has destined for you , the spiritual nature of
man and life makes it absolutely impossible
for a canal man to get anywhere in his
destiny, if you really want to maximize your
potential in life you need to throw in the bin
some mere motivational doctrines you have
got before now. Mere motivational
teachings cannot take you anywhere in the
journey to destiny.
You got to understand the that life is
spiritual and it takes spiritual people to go
far, look at v10 of our passage ‘ 2:10 But
God hath revealed them unto us by his
Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things,
yea, the deep things of God ‘. The very first
step in maximising your potential is
* REVELATION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT :
everyone who must maximise his God’s
given potential must position himself at a
point God can share deep things about his
life to him, this is revelation about what he
is meant to do in life, this is attained at the
state of waiting upon the Lord.
* DIRECTION BY THE SPIRIT : the Holy Spirit
is the only one who can give you direction
in life, if you cultivate the habit of waiting
upon the Lord, your mistakes in life will be
minimal, you arrive your destination faster
than anyone could imagine.
* CONTINUE WITH THE SPIRIT : endeavor
not to grief the Holy Spirit, if you must
continually enjoy your relationship with the
Holy Spirit you must abstain from sin, do
not allow pleasure of sin cost you your
glorious destiny, this is why quiet time is
ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT for anyone who
must fulfill his destiny, at quiet time you
receive the blessings that is meant for each
day, it is dangerous to rush out without
observing quiet time, this is because it put
you at a state the Holy Spirit can relate with
you spirit .
* SPIRITUAL CHECK UP : it is wise to choose
a day to wait upon the Lord at least one day
of the week, a day to seek the Lord in
fasting and prayer even medical doctors
recommend a day fast in a week, as time
permits you on the fasting day spend hours
in God’s presence, you will come to a point
you can easily recognise His voice. I charge
you this morning to get spiritual, a canal
cannot go far.
PRAYER.
* Lord help me to be spiritually awake.
* It is another day to wait upon the Lord be
part of it.
