Topic: LIGHT OF LIFE
Text : John 8:1-12KJV
10. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and
saw none but the woman, he said unto her,
Woman, where are those thine accusers?
hath no man condemned thee?
11. She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said
unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go,
and sin no more.
12. Then spake Jesus again unto them,
saying, I am the light of the world: he that
followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
There are these opposing forces in nature;
light and darkness, life and death. Light is
synonymous to life, while darkness is
synonymous to death. However, on earth
many are living in darkness, they have a life
full of darkness; sin, fornication, adultery,
rituals, oaths, cheating, stealing, lying,
occults, backbiting, anger, unforgiveness,
bitterness, hatred, strife e.t.c are all
darkness. Some lives are even governed,
controlled and manipulated by the powers
of darkness, such lives are instrument of
cruelty and wickedness in the hand of the
devil. All of such lives mentioned above are
potentially dead though they are living,
because darkness is synonymous to death.
The good news is that true life is filled with
light. From our text today, a woman caught
in adultery was brought to Jesus, already
condemned by her accusers because they
were ready to stone her to death (wages of
sin is death- this confirmed that a life of sin
is a potentially dead life), however her
encounter with light of life transformed
her, such that her accusers were no longer
justified to condemn her, they all
disappeared into thin air. When you receive
Jesus, you shall have the light of life. John
1:4 says “In Him was life and the life was
the light of men” meaning life on earth and
in the world only offers darkness (Isaiah
60:2) but life in Christ offers absolute light
without darkness.
Dearly beloved, you could be a self
righteous man without Jesus Christ like
Cornelius (Acts 10), I tell you,you are not yet
in light because a natural life on earth
offers only darkness but if you can accept
Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour you
shall have the light of life (John 8:12). God

PRAYER:
1. Father, I put off a life style of self
righteousness and I put the righteousness
of God in Christ Jesus
2. Father, save my spirit, soul and body
from the powers and works of darkness in
Jesus Name
3. I receive the light of life in Jesus Name,
darkness get out of my life!
