Topic: THE FEAR OF THE LORD Part 3
Text: Proverbs 1:7-8 KJV
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and
instruction.
8 My son, hear the instruction of thy
father, and forsake not the law of thy
mother
There are so many reasons why we should
fear God.
* The works of His hands praise Him
* At His presence the sea fled, Jordan was
driven back, the mountains skipped like
rams, and
the little hills like lambs. (Psalms 114:2-4)
* He made all things (John 1:2-4)
* All powers belong to Him (Matt 28:18)
* Nothing is impossible for Him (Jeremiah
32:17)
* He can set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1)
* He can kill and can raise back to life.
One of the main reason why man and
especially devil is feared is because they can
curse, and can terminate lives. But Matthew
10:28 says “And fear not them which kill the
body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear him which is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell” Man, even devil
can’t terminate the soul but God can, they
can’t raise back the body they killed to life
but God can.
One of my father in the Lord will say if any
man or an agent of darkness curse you,
your parish pastor can lift it, if your parish
pastor curse you, your area pastor can lift, if
your area pastor curse you, the general
overseer can lift it but if God curse you, you
are on your own. Meaning if you on God’s
side you are untouchable because He will
fight for you but if you are against God, who
will defend you? Dear reader, indeed it is
wisdom to fear God and foolishness to be
against God. God bless you
