Topic: BUILDING OUR NATION
Text : Isaiah 61:1-11
4 KJV:And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 KJV:And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vine dressers.
When God is ready to revival and restore a corrupt nation like ours He uses men who understand His program. Our nation is characterised with atrocities, iniquities, corruption, and lawlessness. Economic situation is not encouraging, there is so much poverty in the land, it not time to apportion blame but time to find solution.
The first point I will like you to understand is this; God has His program for every nation, He is not just sitting down there in heaven crossing His legs, He has His plan and that is what v 4 of our passage is telling us; ….getting His people to build the wastes..’ as long as we focus on political solutions alone, we are getting farther to the prosperity of the nation.
Every child of God who understands God’s program must begin to work in line with that program in his own domain, for instance; the touts we have in our neighbourhood were once young people who we send on errand, most probably no one cares about their future and so they are wrongly exposed and eventually became problem to our society. The militants must also have grown in a community where we have at least one Christian and most probably no one care about their future, members of Islamic sect ‘BOKO HARAM’ were wrongly exposed and became a serious problem for the country.
Going forward, if there will be a turn around for this nation, we all must understand God’s program and begin to work in line with that program ‘building…the old waste’
Let’s consciously invest in the lives of people, selfishness will continually draw the nation backward, all children hawking on the street are wrongly exposed and most probably might grow up to be problem to the society, it is wrong to feel relaxed when your neighbour’s children are not going to school, it is the beginning of problem, encourage young people to build their future, let’s advocate to get all children in school, let’s speak out, silence is dangerous, let’s us have a voice to shun evil in the land.
