PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
27th April
Topic: BESIDE THE STILL WATER
Text : Psalm 23:1-6
1 KJV:The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 KJV:He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
This passage of the bible is so popular that most people give literal interpretation and thereby losing the power it carries. The Psalmist started by saying ‘the Lord is my shepherd’ it means am His sheep, He gives me direction, He determines where I go, I am very careful not to go to where He has not instructed me to go. In other words I have no direction of my own, where I want to go does not matter here.
This is very evident in the Psalmist’s life, he did seek direction from God even when battle is very close. As long as the Lord His shepherd, he shall not want, he lies down in green pastures, the Lord leads him besides the still waters, not trouble waters.
When we become careful of listening to the voice of the Lord, when we stop leading our lives ourselves then certainly, the blessings of this bible passage will be ours. One thing that made David a man after God’s heart, is the fact he did wait upon the Lord before taking steps. God alone knows the direction our lives should take, as we wait upon Him He will not allow our lives to be troubled.
PRAYER.
* Lord help to be patient enough to seek direction from you.
* It is another day to wait upon the Lord, endeavour to be part of it.
* Send your request to 08099000835 if any.
