Prevailing Voice Daily 24th April

24th April
Text : Romans 12:1-10
1 KJV:I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 KJV:And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The integral part of our worship to God is Sacrifice, sacrifice is an act of worship, either in the old testament or in the new testament, God gave them series of offerings they must bring as they appear to worship before Him; burnt offering, wave offering, peace offering, passover feast, sin offering. In fact sacrifice brought about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Look at this: KJV:Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Psalm 50: 5. Everyone who serves Him must be able to make sacrifice, sacrifice what? sacrifice of life; giving our lives to Him, williness to please Him by our daily living, when an animal is used for sacrifice even human being both dies immediately, but in our own case we are living but yet given up in sacrifice to our God, in other words we are not permitted to live to please ourselves anymore but to please God.
Look at this : KJV:And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:15. What it means is this, since Christ took my place in death, my own life should have been taken, but rather His life was taken in my stead, I should have stopped living but for Christ, so now that I live, I live not my life because my own life has actually been taken through Christ death, I am to live the life of Christ. I must, going forward, live not to please myself but to please Christ,
Look at this, it should throw more light, Galatians 2:20;
KJV:I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. My commitment to God in holy living makes me a living sacrifice. This is what we mean when we say ‘have you given your life to Christ?
Help me to live to please you always oh Lord.
1 Samuel 12, Revelation 13.
