PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
28th March
Topic: HE IS ALIVE
Text: Luke 24:1-13 KJV
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Jesus did not die to remain in the grave, He died to resurrect and perfect our redemption from the world back to God. He is alive, no longer dead and that is the assurance of our salvation and our victory in this world.
One point to note from our text today was the fact that the women that went to the tomb of Jesus as well as the disciples did not actually believed what Jesus had told them of His resurrection. On the third of the death of Jesus, the women were actually going to the tomb of Jesus to anoint Him with spices, they had expected they will meet His body there and were surprised when they saw that the stone of the tomb had been rolled away, no wonder the angels they saw at the tomb asked them “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee”.
In verse 12, when the women took the report of Jesus resurrection to the disciples who had been with Jesus they did not believe at first. Bible said in verse 11 ” And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.” Idle tales also mean nonsense talk. So even the disciples never believed those words that Jesus had spoken to them of His resurrection.
In like manner, many today do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus, many take it as just usual religious norms. Dear reader, its more than religious annual holidays and celebration, it is our hope of glory, our hope of eternity, it is our victory over the condemnation of sin and sting of death. Halleluyah Jesus is alive, have faith in Him. God bless you
PRAYER:
Father, let the very essence of the resurrection of Jesus be evident in my life
