Topic: BEHOLD THE LAMB Part 1
Text: Hebrews 12: 1-5 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which
doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
To behold means to look upon or gaze at something. Before you can actually gaze at something, it must have drawn your attention or it could be something of importance, also it possibly may be something you want to see its content beyond the surface appearance. We are to gaze on Jesus the lamb that saves the world because He is the author and the finisher of our faith. Author means He is the foundation, while finisher means He is the completion or perfection of our faith. Let’s consider 3 things to behold Jesus for:
* BEHOLD THE LAMB FOR SALVATION: Jesus is the author of our faith, John said in John 1:29 that Jesus is the lamb that takes away the sins of the world. The life in the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the judgment of sin. He offered himself as a sacrificial lamb once and for all that our redemption be made perfect unto God. No sin, no devils, no enchantment, no curses, no guilt of sin can withstand the salvation of the blood of Jesus. Dear reader,if only you can behold Jesus, He will save you from anything and everything that is contrary to God plan for you. It does not matter how deep you have gone in sin, in occult or any evil society, Jesus can save you. Isaiah 1: 18 says “Come now, and let us reason together,saith the Lord: though your sins be asscarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” So there is no sin Jesus cannot forgive and there is no sinner He cannot save only if you will behold Him today.
Behold Jesus by
* acknowledging your sins
* confessing your sins to Jesus
* confessing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour
You will never regret you did,God bless you. Watch out for concluding part on Saturday.
Father, help me constantly look unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith.
