Text : Jeremiah 17:1-10
5:Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 KJV:For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 KJV:Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 KJV:For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 KJV:The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Most times when we are in need, our mind quickly search through who we think can help us, your brain can quickly calculate the rich men that can lend or give you some money, but over time many have been disappointed, most time they promise and they could not meet up, even then they have their own secret pains
One important point you need to understand is the fact that every man needs help, it like adding your burden to theirs, so looking up to men is like wasting one’s precious time, besides, God placed curse on anyone who trust in man
Another vital point to note is that: God is jealous, He feels bad when His glory is given to someone else and sometimes he allows men to let us down so that we can look up to Him. The ideal thing is to look up to God, wait upon Him, while we do that He will definitely send men to us. He controls the heart of everyone and so He can border someone to come to your aid.
Verses 7 and 8 of our passage pronounce blessing on everyone who put his or her trust in God; he shall be like a tree by rivers of water…,shall not see when heat cometh, her leaf shall be green,…shall never cease from yielding fruit, that means prosperity. Learn to trust God at all times. God bless you.
PRAYER:
Lord help me to put my trust in you alone.
