PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
23rd February
Topic: THE PERFECT WORKS OF REDEMPTION Part 2
Text: Ephesians 2:1-11 KJV
6. And hath raised us up together, and
made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In part 1 of this topic, we mentioned that one of the features of the perfect works of redemption is that we are saved by grace through faith and not by works.
The other features of the works of redemption that really made it perfect are:
* THE DEBT OF SINS WERE FULLY PAID: Romans 5:8 says “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. We were indebted to sin, a great debt we owed but could never pay, God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross, shedding His blood to pay the debt of our sins even while we were still sinners, and as we accept His offer of salvation by grace through faith we are made justified before God. Being justified means God sees us as if we never sinned, what a perfect works of redemption it is! Aside that we are justified, we are no longer condemned. Romans 8:1 says “there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit”. So God no longer condemn us, heaven no longer, even the world could not condemn us any longer because we have accepted the offer of salvation. However, if you are not saved yet, John 3:18 says you are condemned already, think on this thing and accept Jesus Christ today.
* TOTAL TRANSFORMATION: this is another amazing experience that makes the works of redemption perfect. When we accept the offer of salvation by grace through faith, we are totally transformed from darkness to LIGHT, from sinners to SAINTS, from slaves to SONS e.t.c Even the devil must have wondered how a thief by the left side of Jesus on the cross, who has already been condemned to be in hell that same day was suddenly translated to be in paradise with Jesus instead of hell. It must have also baffled the devil how Saul a powerful instrument of persecution to the early church became transformed totally and became Paul, one of the greatest Apostles of the early church. Have you not also imagined how God has turned many who were chronic prostitutes, armed robbers e.t.c to great evangelist, preaching the gospel of Jesus, what a perfect work of redemption it is!
Dearly beloved, God is perfect and His works are perfect. If you have been saved and you do not have an assurance of salvation, with today’s devotion you should have that assurance of salvation. But if you are not saved yet, take a bold step to confess your sins, repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour so that you can be a part of this great provision of the works of redemption from God and be free from the pending wrath of God on sinners on the last day. God bless you
PRAYER:
1. Father, help me not loose hold of your works of redemption upon my life in Jesus Name
2. Help me not to fall from grace to sin
3. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation in Jesus Name
