Text: 2 Samuel 15:31-34, 16: 20-23
, 17: 1-23 KJV
31. And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness. (2Samuel 15:31)
23. And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom. (2Samuel 16:23)
23. And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father. (2Samuel 17:23)
Ungodly counsels are decisions or advice taken against a person or given to a person in order to truncate the destiny of such a person. They are counsels that are contrary to the purpose of God for His children. Ungodly counsel can also be liken to policies established for selfish reasons of the policy makers and aimed to work against God’s counsel for the land and for His children.
From our text King David was on the run from the conspiracy of his Son Absalom to overthrone him. David’s most valuable counselor Ahithophel was in the camp of David’s Son and when David realised it, he prayed that God would turn the counsel Ahithophel would give Absalom into foolishness and God answered his prayer.
In 2Samuel 16, Ahithophel gave his first counsel and Absalom followed suit however in 2Samuel 17, he gave a second counsel which would defeat David and enthrone Absalom, but Absalom discarded it and in verse 23, Ahithophel hanged himself because his counsel was turn to foolishness, I pray that God Almighty will turn every ungodly counsel against you into foolishness in Jesus Name.
Policies are made at different levels of managements e.g school, office, government e.t.c Every policy that will slow down or terminate the plan of God for your life will not see the light of the day in Jesus Name.
Hear what Isaiah 8:9-10 says about it “Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.” I pray that God will break in pieces the gathering of evil counselors for your sake in Jesus Name.

1. Father, terminate every ungodly policy contrary to my progress in life in Jesus Name
2. Turn to foolishness, every ungodly counsel against my destiny in Jesus Name
