Text : Luke 11:1-22
20 KJV:But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
21 KJV:When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 KJV:But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
Controversial teachings on this subject have left many confused, by the God’s Spirit I will be sharing in the light of the scriptures. Deliverance is defined as recovery or preservation from loss or danger, in verse 20 of our passage, Jesus said ‘..if I with the finger of God cast out devils’ it means devils/ demons should be cast out, in Mark 16:17 Jesus said KJV:And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; Jesus reaffirm casting out devils so this negate statement of some preachers that say ‘you don’t need to cast out demons’.
Some people say ‘believers don’t need prayer of deliverance, Christ has already delivered us’ of course, He paid fully for all things that pertains to life and godliness on the cross of calvary, it’s best illustrated as this; if my father leave inheritance for me, say,huge amount of money in the bank, of course the bank will ask some questions and documents before releasing the money to me. Christ made full deposit for salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, total package of redemption by His death and resurrection, our duty is to access them by faith through prayer, just as you present your instrument for transaction in the bank, likewise we access Christ provisions by faith in the place of prayer, if your life and dreams indicate you need deliverance please do engage yourself of deliverance, you don’t exercise faith by closing your mouth to prayer, faith is expressed through prayer for desired experience.
