PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
19th January
Topic: THE MARKET PLACE AND THE HOME
Text: Mark 10: 28-30 KJV
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or
mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and
lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Everyone goes to market to trade during the day, the market is always so busy, with noises, and full of activities during the day but as soon as the night comes, all people in the market return home and the market becomes quiet and silent like a graveyard. If a man goes to market to sell, and instead of diligently facing his buisiness in the market, he gets carried away, left his market and start to gist with friends, play with other people in the market, poke nose into other market sellers matters and at the close of the market he made no sales, it is obvious that he must return home with nothing and he must go to bed on empty stomach, pain, sorrow and regrets while other seller who diligently made sales will enjoy the pleasure they denied themselves in the market when they returned home at night.
From our text, Peter was so conscious of the fact that they left their home, people and what they do for a living to follow Jesus and asked Jesus what would be their gain and Jesus answered him.
Dearly beloved, we are all in the market place now(the EARTH), when night falls (death, or second coming of Jesus), we will return home (Heaven or Hell fire). Are you preparing for a home with Jesus (as in have been saved, purged, doing the work of God, living a holy life e.t.c) or you are just distracted, messing up your self, fornicating, humanizing, drinking and doing things that the devil wants you to do, remember when the night comes you won’t be qualified to reign with Jesus Christ in Heaven. No wonder Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:19 “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable”. Think on these things and ask Jesus Christ to save you. God bless you
PRAYER:
1. Lord, when I return home let me not be filled with sorrow and regrets in Jesus Name
2. Father, let me not be distracted from your purpose in the market place
