Topic: DILIGENCE IN BUSINESS
Text: Proverbs 22:29 KJV
29 Seest thou a man diligent in his
business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Diligence is a constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken or the persistent exertion of body or mind.
Success in life, business, ministry e.t.c requires the virtue; diligence. Diligence is like a foundation upon which very many other virtues have their roots e.g
A steward that is diligent will be:
1. Creative
2. Pay attention to details
3. Do excellent jobs, assignment, projects e.t.c
4. Most times have solutions to challenges or difficult task at work
.
Our text today says (I reframe) show me a man who will stand before Kings and I will tell you a man who is diligent in business. David was a diligent man, no wonder he was one of the most successful kings in the scripture with a lot of achievements to his credit:
1. He slew bear and lion as a shepherd boy watching over his father flocks (1 Sam 17:36)
2. He killed Goliath with a stone on a battle field (1 Sam 17:49)
3. He ruled over Ziklag, then became King over Judah and finally he bacame King over Israel
4. He trained ordinary farmers who started with him in Ziklag and turned them to mightiest men of war that ever lived (1 Sam 22:2, II Sam 23:8-39)
5. He was the only King who operated as a King and as a Priest and God called him a man after His heart (Acts 13:22)
Dearly beloved, you will agree with me that after all it pays to be diligent. Aim to be diligent in all you do, even if it seems what you get in you job now is not what you are worth, still be diligent. God bless you
