Topic : AGENT OF PEACE
Text : Matthew 5:1-10
AMP: 9 Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God!
Peace is defined as harmonious relations; freedom from disputes. The gospel of Christ is the that of peace, He gives us peace not as the world give. Firstly laying the foundation of peace, He sacrificed Himself to bring us into harmonious relationship with God, we all were enemies of God but by the sacrifice of His life reconciles us back to God, after that He commissioned everyone who receives Him as AGENT OF PEACE. He gave us two specific assignments.
1, Live at peace with everyone, look at this ‘ AMP:Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.’ Hebrews 12;14. two important words to note; STRIVE to live in peace with EVERYBODY. make effort to be at peace everybody no matter what he or she does or who he or she is.
2, He gave us ministry of reconciliation, KJV:And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation 2Corinthians 5:18. He commissioned us to reconcile the world, sinners back to Him, showing sinners the way of salvation through our lives and our deeds
The horizontal line of the cross signifies sweet relationship with God while the vertical line signifies harmonious relationship men. From our text blessed is everyone who is a peacemaker, anyone strive to live in peace with everyone is pronounced blessed by Jesus.
* Lord help me to live in peace with everyone.
* Help me in the ministry of reconciliation.
