4th December
Text: Genesis 18: 16-33 KJV
17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will commandhis children and his household after him,and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord maybring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
As perfect as our God is and as imperfect as we men are, God still testify of men who measure up to His standards. From our text today, God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, a land inhabited by Abraham’s Nephew, that Lot and his family, but God could not just do it without telling Abraham because of this testimony that Abraham will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment. What a great respect from the Almighty God to a mortal man. Some other men in the scriptures that God also testify about are:
1. Moses: Number 12: 6-8 says And he said, Hear now my words: If there
be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
2. Job: Job 1:8 says And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
3. David: Acts 13:22 says And when he had removed him, he raised
up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
Dearly beloved, if God will testify of you, what will He say? Will He have something to say at all? Can God vouch for you? Think about these things, and ask yourself, what will God’s testimony about me be and what can God say about me? God bless you.
1. Father, every way I have not pleased you, forgive me in Jesus Name
2. Father help me to live to please till the point you will testify of me to the world and to the devil in Jesus Name.
