Topic: FAITH IN GOD NOT MEN
Text: II Chronicles 20:20-21 KJV
20. And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and
said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should. praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army,
and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
From our text today, Jeshoshaphat told the people of Judah and Jerusalem that they should believe in God first and then believe His prophets, on the contrary today many of us in this generation, subconsciously, ignorantly and at times deliberately believe in His prophets than God Himself.
For example, when most people call phone numbers of a ministry for prayer and counseling, they would demand if they were speaking with the pastor because they wanted the pastor to pray or counseled them, if it was not the pastor who was speaking, may be it was one of his associates ministers who was ready to attend to their request, they would decline and told him, No! its the pastor they wanted to speak with and then end the call. But I bet you if the man who picked the call was just a driver, but told them he was the pastor, you will realise that they would continue to discuss their problem with the man simply because he disguise as the pastor. Also when many are waiting in the church to see the Pastor and were told the Pastor is busy and that other brethren or ministers should attend to those waiting, you will discover that many will leave immediately and a higher percentage of those who wait for other ministers to attend to them really may not believe God can use those ministers to meet their needs simply because it was not the Pastor who attended to them.
Dearly beloved, let’s be mindful of this, your faith should be in God not in men, don’t turn God servants and prophets to your idols. God bless you
PRAYER:
1. Father every way I have turn your prophets to idols, have mercy
2. Father help me to put my total trust in you in Jesus Name
