27th October
Topic: THE WORD OF THE KING
Text: Daniel 3:1-30 KJV
20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore because the king’s
commandment was urgent, and the
furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The word of the King is powerful(Hebrews 4:12), runs very swift (Psalms 147:15) and once it is spoken it must be done. When He speaks all forces of nature in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth co-operate to ensure that the King’s word is done.
From our text, an earthly king; Nebuchanezzar commanded his mighty men to bind the 3 hebrew men;Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them inside a fiery furnace which king Nebuchadnezzar had earlier instructed that the intensity of the fiery furnace be increased seven times. Verse 22 says because of the urgency of king Nebuchadnezzar’s words, those mighty men who bound and threw the 3 hebrews inside the fire lost their lives to the flame of the fiery furnace. If these mighty men were not careful about their lives such that they died, simply because they wanted to carry out the king’s order, how much more when the God, the King of kings speaks. When God speaks it is done because all things, living and non living will work together to ensure the word comes to pass. No wonder Mathew 24:35 says Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away. Isaiah 55:11 also says So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Dearly beloved, If God has said it He will do it, Number 23:19 says God is not a man, that he should lie;…. hath he said, and shall he not do
it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
So whatsoever He has promised you He will surely bring it to pass all you need is faith in His words Mark 11:23-24 and patience to receive the promise Hebrews 10:36. God bless you
