PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
4th October
Topic: DEDICATED TO WORSHIP
Text : Joshua 24: 1-16
KJV:And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24; 15
God does not compel anyone to worship Him, it’s only a matter of choice though ‘the choice not to’ has great consequences (great punishment). Man is not fashioned like a robot which its freedom is been controlled by its operator. Man is made with willpower, ability to choose, Adam and Eve had option of choosing between life and death.
Everyone is expected to make life’s decision, decision of whom to serve, it is our voluntary desire to make Him our LORD and Saviour, that makes us accepted to Him. This is because serious commitment must follow our decision, and if it’s coming from the heart then it is void of hypocrisy. From our text, Joshua did not only make this decision for himself, he encouraged his household to serve the LORD, it is important we encourage others to do the same.
Beyond religious activities God, who sees the intent of your heart, must recognise you as a true worshipper. Look at this KJV:Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21. We must ensure our lives conform to His will always, there is no point pretending to serve the Lord while you are not, because He knows everything about you even your closest. God knows His worshippers, He recognises their voice in the place of prayer and praise. For instance, in a church where 1,000 people praise and pray in a loud noise, He recognises those who are true worshippers and they might probably be less than 100 in number.
REALITY CHECK
* Does God know me as a true worshipper?
* Am l truly born again? John 3;3
* Does my life encourage people to serve God?
* Are there secret sins in my life?
PRAYER
* Be sincere with yourself, God can’t be deceived, make your life right with God today.
* Ask for grace to conform to His will.
God bless you do have a glorious worship in church today.
