Topic: WAITING PATIENTLY
Text : Psalm 62: 1-12
AMP:For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.
AMP:He only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be greatly moved.
AMP:Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower) Psalm 62;1,2,8.
Some basic understanding about God puts our heart at rest, life’s matters most time call for anxiety, worry and panic but when you know who you believe your heart remains stable. The psalmist from our text says ‘my soul waits in silence…’ silence there means calmness, peace, no worry, no stress, with assurance, ‘….from Him comes my salvation. Salvation means safety from all troubles, present and future. He was sure that as he waits upon God, his salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, fruitfulness, and every good thing of life is certain.
In verse 2 he said ‘….., l shall not be greatly moved. Waiting upon the LORD guarantees our stability in times of trouble, one major feature of trouble is to destabilise the heart or mind and when the heart is destabilised you can’t take right decisions thereby compounding issues, but as you learn to wait upon the LORD, trusting that He can never fail, your heart becomes calm and assured of victory and testimony. Troubles of life made many to run from pillar to post, and yet their problems are compounded.
Look at verse 8 ‘Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him….’ very explicit trust, lean and have confidence at all times because …..God is a refuge for us’ this very interesting beloved, the God who neither sleep nor slumber is our refuge, please tell me who and what can hurt us? of course absolutely nothing. Relax, He has everything in His hands, He can do anything for you at anytime, even right now.
DON’T FORGET
* He knows and feels your pains.
* He loves you.
* He remembers you.
* He can’t be late, He is always right on time.
* His (God’s) time is the best.
Just wait in prayer He definitely answer.
* LORD help me to wait patiently for you with all confidence.
