25th September
Text : Luke 18; 1-8
AMP:Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)
AMP:And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?
AMP:I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth? Luke 18;1,7,8
Prayer is defined as an act of communicating with spiritual being (GOD), while persistence means ‘never ceasing’ putting the two words together; never cease in communicating with God. From our text, Jesus clearly stated that we should never cease to pray, many people have misunderstood persistence in prayer to mean repetition. Trusting God on a matter and praying about it until there is a breakthrough in your spirit is not repetition, understand that when you pray your spirit communicates with God, keep praying until you feel loosed in your spirit, until the burden is lifted off you, though you have not seen manifestation physically.
Many people tend to lose faith easily, or give up on a matter and most times conclude it’s not God’s will instead of praying until they prevail, many Christians conclude it is an act of faith to observe short prayer sessions, some say ‘we don’t need to bother ourselves since Christ has paid it all’, this is total misunderstanding of scriptures, the bible instructs us to be fervent and persistent in prayer, our generation is full of lot of prayerless Christians who profess faith in prayerlessness. Don’t give up praying, don’t faint, be fervent and persistent until there is a release in your spirit—confirming breakthrough, some have face-out vigils and fasting, please don’t join them. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS.
* Persistent prayer makes you prevail over life’s challenges.
* Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.
* When life’s situations get bitter, pouring ones bitterness into the well of life through prayer, makes things brighter and better
*A prayerful man is stronger than a prayerless seer (prophet), so why running after prophets when you can pray?
1, LORD revive my prayer life
2, Give me grace to prevail in prayer
3, Give attention, in prayer, to stubborn matters in your life, address them fervently.
