PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
18th September
Topic : CONSECRATION
Text ; 1Samuel 1: 10-28
KJV:And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the child was young.
KJV:Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.1Samuel 1;24,28
Consecration is defined as sanctification, of something by setting it apart as dedicated property to God, our case study this morning is Samuel who was lent to the Lord by his mum, Hannah. Please you need to follow me carefully as I explain the mystery in this passage;
*1st point to note: ‘when she had weaned him….’ this means, as soon as she stopped breast-feeding, she brought him to the Lord, it must be a very tender age, not minding what evil could befall such a child, Hannah knew as long as her son is with the Lord alone good things are permitted in his life.
* 2nd point : when you look at verse 28 carefully, you will notice 2 statements that couldn’t have be used together except for the purpose they serve; ‘….l have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord…’Lent’ which is the last tense of LEND means ‘give temporarily’ since it’s temporal, why is she saying ‘as long as he lives’? now listen, ‘lent to the Lord’ because the Lord will give it back with higher value, no one commits his or her life to God and remains the same. God is a good investor, He gave Jesus to save the world, if you give Him your money you’ll always get a higher value, in fact an overflow, in return let alone your life. So Hannah said so, because she knew as long as Samuel serves the Lord, he’ll always be a blessing to himself, family, nation and generation. Samuel rose to become a mighty prophet in Isreal, the bible says ‘not one of his words fell to ground’ ‘1Samuel 3:19. It means none of his prophesies failed.
HIGH POINTS
* Set your life apart for the Lord.
* Don’t worry about tomorrow because the Lord will take care of that.
* As you give your totality to God know that you’re lending it to Him, He’ll make the best out of you.
* When you give God your resources e.g money, you can be sure of multiple value.
PRAYER POINTS
* Tell Him you surrender all to Him this morning.
* Ask Him to do whatever He pleases with your life.
* Show me where l fit into your plan LORD.
