PREVAILING VOICE DAILY 8th September
Topic: 3 KINDS OF GENERATION Part 1(The Generation of Cain)
Text: Genesis 4:1-8 (KJV)
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she
conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have
gotten a man from the Lord.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and
it came to pass, when they were in the field,
that Cain rose up against Abel his brother,
and slew him.
The generation of Cain are a generation that cause evil to happen to others. Some of those in this category are there because, they sold themselves to the devil or they carelessly allow devil to use them or they are selfish and greedy.
In our text today Cain killed his brother, because he was jealous of his brother Abel. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted by God while cain’s was not, so out of jealousy that his brother was better than he was,he(Cain) killed his brother. So Abel lost his life just because Cain was jealous
Another example is Achan (Joshua 7:1-26), After God gave the children of Israel victory over Jericho, Achan took of the accursed thing(treasures of land of Jericho) which God had clearly instructed that they should destroy. This singular act of covetousness, greediness and selfishness caused 36 men to lose their life in battle between Israel and Ai.
David, the man after God’s heart also allowed devil to use him and thousands of Israel lost there lives. In 1 Chronicles 21: 1-17 David provoked God by taking census to know the population of Israel, and God sent Gad to tell David the sin he had committed and that he should choose 1 out of 3 punishments, David chose the first punishment which caused 70,000 people to lose their life in one day, this was really a great disaster and that’s why we should always pray for our leaders.
Dearly beloved, are you or have you been a generation of Cain, do you cause others pain out selfishness, greed and jealousy, or you don’t even border who suffers at the expense of your own comfort and success? you need to repent and ask Jesus to save you.
PRAYER
1. I refuse to be a generation of cain
2. I will not be an instrument of sorrow, destruction and death in the hand of the devil in Jesus Name
3. Father deliver me from greed, jealousy, pride and selfishness in Jesus Name.
