PREVAILING VOICE DAILY 30th August 2015
Topic: HELP FROM ABOVE
Text: John 5: 1-9 KJV
5 And a certain man was there, which had
an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he
had been now a long time in that case, he
saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I
have no man, when the water is troubled,
to put me into the pool: but while I am
coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy
bed, and walk.
Help from above is also what we call Divine Help. So many received help from Jesus in the bible when they cried unto him, Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52 shouted amidst the multitude to get Jesus attention for divine help to recover his sight, he shouted ”Jesus thou son of David have mercy on me”. The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8: 43-48) pressed with determination amidst the multitude till she was able to touch the hem of Jesus garment for her divine help. Like wise the Centurion (Matt 8:8-13)who needed divine help for his servant came to Jesus personally pleading that Jesus would heal his servant. They all solicited for divine help and they received it, I pray for you that as you cry and pray to heaven, you shall receive divine help in Jesus Name.
The more interesting ones, are those who receive help from above without soliciting for it. The man in our text today had been by a pool for 38 years with sickness and no help from anyone but heaven on this particular day qualified him for divine help. It was obvious that mercy was at work in this case because Jesus did not say to him as he said to other that ”Thy faith has made whole” I pray Heaven will qualify you by mercy for divine help in Jesus name. Another example is the man who was born blind in John 9: 1-27. He received his sight without asking for it but that God might be glorified, You shall receive divine help to glorify God in Jesus Name.
PRAYER:
1. Father let your mercy qualify me for divine help in Jesus Name
2. Lord glorify yourself in my life in Jesus Name.
