August 20
Topic : UTTERMOST PRIORITY
Psalms 137:1-9.
AMP:If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill [with the harp].
AMP:Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth if I remember you not, if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy! psalms 137:5,6
Several things beckon on our attention and we all run towards one thing or the other, everyday we dress up to go out we aim at something. Pursuit of success, breakthrough, prosperity etc is the order the day but dearly beloved something is most important, from our text the psalmist was talking about his continually remembrance of Jerusalem and he did swear to is own hurt ‘let my right hand forget its skill’ he did play harp very well ,that is; the work of his hands, it means when he starts forgetting Jerusalem may his handiwork prosper no more, look at verse 6 he asked God to make his tongue cleave to the roof of his mouth if Jerusalem is not his chief joy. Continually remembrance for Jerusalem is his uttermost desire and priority, in like manner every child of God should continually remember and prepare for JERUSALEM look at this brethren AMP:And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband; Rev.21;2
There should be a continual remembrance for heaven, we shouldn’t replace that with anything else, that’s the reason Jesus Christ died, the reason we go to church, we pay our tithes, it’s the reason for many self denial and if anyone one misses it, it will be the GREATEST TRAGEDY ever, beloved if you miss HEAVEN (holy Jerusalem) you’ll cry, alternative to heaven is hell ,very terrible place, there shall be gnashing of teeth.
QUALIFICATION
1, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN
2, You must live holy (abstain from sin)
3, Don’t be carried away with the affairs of this world
PERSONAL RESOLUTION
* I won’t be a tenant to the devil
* l will let go anything for heaven’s sake
* l will give up pleasure for heaven’s sake when necessary
* l will be a true soldier of Christ ready to die at my post.
PRAYER POINTS
1, Ask the Lord to help you
2, Ask for grace to live holy
3, Lord increase my desire for you and heaven.
